The lead trainer is Ian Waugh - author of
The Mariner’s Guide to Marine Communications’
published by The Nautical Institute.
The Guide’ is designed to help mariners get the best from
their radio and satellite communications equipment.


When you get your copy of the ‘Guide’ (2nd edition) you’ll need to make some updates/changes using the erratum
(download using this link).


Ian is an examiner in the UK GMDSS examination system
(all levels); and also for the CAA Radio Operator Certificate of Competence (ROCC) (Offshore Communication Service) - for Radio Operators; Helicopter Landing Officers (HLO) and Helideck Assistant (HDA) onboard ‘superyachts’ and other vessels, rigs & platforms.


We provide a GMDSS/CAA training/examination service
for individual customers at your own premises - or onboard
your vessel, craft or offshore installation.



For example - we run a regular programme of GMDSS courses
for mariners, including professional yachtsmen, at D&B Services,
Antibes (France) and VMB Yachts in Viareggio, Italy.
